Private browser extraction
Video Frame Extractor
Find a useful moment and export the decoded source frame without browser chrome, player controls, or screen-capture scaling.
Extract a still frame
Seek to a timestamp, compare the video preview, and save the decoded frame at its source dimensions.

Direct frame export instead of a screenshot
A screenshot records the displayed player, which may be scaled or covered by controls. Direct extraction draws the decoded source frame at the selected timestamp.
The video stays on this device. Export dimensions follow the encoded frame, including any motion blur or compression already present in the source.
How to save a frame
- 1
Choose the original video
Use the first-generation file where possible for the best resolution and bitrate.
- 2
Seek and compare
Move near the moment and inspect adjacent times for focus, expression, and motion blur.
- 3
Select a format and save
Use PNG for editing or JPEG/WebP for a smaller photographic still.
Useful still-frame workflows
Video thumbnails
Capture a representative moment without player overlays.
Family video portraits
Find a clear expression to preserve or print separately.
Tutorial references
Save an exact interface or demonstration state from the source footage.
Source quality remains the limit
Extraction preserves available pixels; it does not recover missing focus or detail.
- Codec support depends on the browser and operating system.
- Variable-frame-rate video may not map evenly from timestamps to frame numbers.
- PNG avoids another lossy pass but cannot undo video compression.
Video frame questions
Does the video upload anywhere?
No. Frame extraction runs locally in this browser.
What resolution is the saved frame?
It uses the decoded video frame dimensions, adjusted for display orientation when needed.
Is PNG always sharper than JPEG?
PNG avoids a new lossy pass, but it cannot remove compression already in the video. High-quality JPEG can still suit final photographs.
