Manual subtitle-area masking
Remove Hardcoded Subtitles from Video
Mark the caption band and hide it with blur, a solid cover, or crop—without claiming to rebuild the hidden scene.

Hide burned-in text without pretending it was never there
Hardcoded subtitles are pixels inside each frame, unlike a removable caption track. The original scene below the lettering is absent from the delivered video.
Manual blur, cover, or crop is honest and predictable. It can clean authorized footage but does not perform content-aware reconstruction or promise an invisible repair.
How to treat a burned-in subtitle band
- 1
Confirm captions are burned in
Disable player caption tracks; if text remains, it is part of the pixels.
- 2
Mark the smallest consistent band
Scrub the clip and cover every line without hiding unnecessary content.
- 3
Choose an explicit treatment
Use blur or a cover to retain dimensions, or crop when losing the edge is acceptable.
Appropriate manual-masking uses
Your exported drafts
Hide temporary captions before making an authorized revision.
Presentation excerpts
Cover a fixed caption strip when underlying detail is not needed.
Reformatted social clips
Crop a bottom band before adding approved replacement captions.
Covered scene detail cannot be recovered
This version masks, blurs, or crops a region; it is not content-aware video inpainting.
- Moving captions or text across the frame need multiple edits or another workflow.
- Blur can reveal large letter shapes; a solid cover is safer for concealment.
- Only edit footage and subtitles you own or may modify, preserving required attribution.
Hardcoded subtitle questions
Can I delete a subtitle track instead?
Only if captions are separate. Burned-in text remains when tracks are disabled.
Will PixelTransform rebuild the hidden background?
No. It applies blur, a solid cover, or crop and does not invent hidden pixels.
Which treatment looks best?
Crop is cleanest when the band is expendable; blur or a designed bar keeps dimensions.
